Student academic reports can be customized to fit the school report as follows

How to activate Student Picture on the report

It may be decided that the picture of each student appears on the report and as such should be activated to show. To activate picture to show on report, take the following steps:

1.   Go to ‘Portal Settings’ from the menu

2.   Click on ‘Report’ from the tabs above

3.   Choose School Level (Nursery, Primary etc.)

4.   Choose a Class

5.   From ‘SHOW ADDITIONAL REPORT PICTURE’ section, select ‘Student Photo

6.   After all other parameters are set on this page, click ‘Update Settings’ to save.

How to set Report Template

When creating subjects, individual subjects can either be added separately in different subject categories or added together with other subjects in the same category (How to Add / Update a Subject Category). Report template helps to determine the format that the result report would take, whether the subjects would appear under their categories or not. To set a report template, follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Portal Settings’ from the menu

2.       Click on ‘Report’ from the tabs above

3.       Choose School Level (Nursery, Primary, etc.)

4.       Choose a Class

5.       ‘Choose a Report Template for Term’. To merge subjects in the same category together, select ‘NECO Standard (portrait).

6.       Ignore step 5 above, if the decision is not to merge subjects in the same category together and leave it on the default option, ‘Use Default (portrait)’.

How to set headers for Mid-Term Report and Term Report

Headers refer to the texts that appear on the columns for each subject (Test, Exam, Total, Remarks etc.). Note that the headers for Mid-Term Report may be different from those of Term Report, and as such, the setting for these must be checked properly before generating the report for each class. To set headers for mid-term and term report, take the following steps:

1.   Go to ‘Portal Settings’ from the menu

2.   Click on ‘Report’ from the tabs above

3.   Choose School Level (Nursery, Primary, etc.)

4.   Choose a Class

5.   From ‘Choose Mid-Term Report CA Headers’, select main and addition header from the list by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while selecting different choices on the options available

6.   From ‘Choose Term Report CA Headers’, select main and addition header from the list by holding down the Ctrl key on your keyboard while selecting different choices on the options available

7.   Click on ‘Update Settings’ to save.

Note: Before generating reports, ensure that the parameters in this section having yes or no questions and other parameters indicating how the report will look like and what will appear on it are all set and updated. Changes made after generating reports would not take effect.

How to Activate Promotion

Promotion refers to a situation where a student passes and is being moved to the next class level, or fails and remains in a class. It could also refer to just pass and fail alone, especially in terms when moving to the next class level does not apply. Activate promotion now means, making the promotion status appear on the report after it has been generated. The setting on activating promotion varies across terms, especially on the last term for the session. To make these activations, follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Portal Settings’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘Report’ from the tabs above

3.       Choose School Level (Nursery, Primary, etc.)

4.       Choose a Class

5.       Set ‘show promotion’ to ‘Yes’ if the decision is to make the promotion status appear on the report, and ‘No’, if the decision is not to ‘show promotion’ status on the report

6.       During the last term, under ‘GROUP- SPECIFIC SETTINGS’, select ‘Yes (Promotion, Passed/Failed). This setting tells Nersapp that promotion has been made (see documentation on How to do class promotion) and this can appear on the report

7.       During other terms, under ‘GROUP- SPECIFIC SETTINGS’, select ‘NO’ or ‘Yes (No promotion, Passed/Failed). The ‘NO’ setting tells Nersapp that promotion is not necessary for the term, while the ‘Yes (No promotion, Passed/failed) tells Nersapp that promotion is not necessary for the term but the promotion status can appear

8.       Click on ‘Update Settings’ to save changes.

How to activate Background Display

Adding text or the school logo to report background can add to the beauty of the report, however, this remains the choice of the school on what is obtainable to them either to have a background display or not. If the decision is to have a background display, the options available to choose from include Repeated Text, Repeated School Logo and Big Centralized School Logo. To activate a background display, follow the steps below:

1.  Go to ‘Portal Settings’ from the menu

2.  Click on ‘Report’ from the tabs above

3.  Choose from the list a ‘Report Background’ and click ‘Update Settings’

4.  If the option chosen in step 3 is ‘Repeated Text’, type in ‘Report Background Text’ in the repeated text box

5.  Select a ‘Repeated Text BG’ color

6.  Click ‘Update Settings’ to save changes.

Please note, whatever setting is made in this section runs the setting for each class for all classes in the school.

Note: Step 7 will only apply if all the settings for academic setup are done properly.
