How to add and use External contact for SMS

Nersapp messaging system is designed in a way that users can send SMS to external contacts. However, the contacts of these external recipients, have to be created on the portal before sending messages to them. Adding contacts can either be single or in group

How to add single contact for SMS

1.       Go to ‘Pmail’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘External contacts’ submenu

3.       Click ‘Single contacts’

4.       Enter in the required fields, the details of the recipient (name, phone number etc.)

5.       Click ‘Add’

Note that fields with an asterisk are compulsory

How to add group contacts for SMS

 Multiple external contacts can be added to different groups (family, friends, etc.) created on the portal, and a user can send bulk SMS to these contacts all at once. To add group contacts, follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Pmail’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘External contacts’ submenu

3.       Click ‘Group contacts’

4.       Enter a group name (family, friends etc.)

5.       Enter phone numbers of members for the group, separating the numbers with comma/ or space

6.       Click ‘Add’
