How to buy SMS credit – Price calculator, Via Bank, Via credit card

Purchasing of SMS credit is a prerequisite for a user to be able to send SMS to both users on the platform and to external numbers, and such units can be purchased from the company either via bank or via credit card. The portal has a price calculator that helps a user know how much an intended amount of units to be purchased would cost, therefore, before using any of the methods mentioned, we recommend you check to know how much a unit would cost. To check for price calculator, follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Pmail’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘Buy & Transfer Credit’ submenu

3.       While on ‘credit purchase’ section by default after step 2 is taken, type in the amount of credit you intend to purchase under ‘SMS unit’ column at the left hand side of the page. The value in Naira is automatically calculated once the designated amount is entered. Below this section, the bank details of the company are found, which includes the Account name, Account number and Bank type.

To buy SMS credit via bank

This method involves walking into the banking hall of any of the banks that the company operates with, make a payment to the bank account of the company and coming back to the school portal to fill in the details of the transaction made to the bank that appears on the teller from the bank. But before going to the bank, we advise you to come to the school portal and get the bank details and instructions on what to do after payment has been made. After payment has been made, come back to the portal and follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Pmail’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘Buy & Transfer Credit’ submenu

3.       While on ‘credit purchase’ section by default after step 2 is taken, click on ‘Bank’

4.       Select the bank name that the payment was made to

5.       Enter ‘transaction/ teller Id’ on the teller or slip issued from the bank

6.       Enter the amount paid to the bank (in figure)

7.       Click ‘buy credit’. Immediately the company gets a notification requesting a purchase of SMS credit. Once the bank transaction is confirmed, the company will credit the user with the corresponding SMS credit immediately.

To buy SMS credit via credit card

Purchasing SMS credit via credit/ debit card is smarter than walking into the banking hall, for it saves time and stress since it can be done from location, as long as the user is connected to the internet. This method supports any card type of both credit card and debit card, it could also be a local card or international card. To buy SMS via credit card, follow the steps below:

1.       Go to ‘Pmail’ on the menu

2.       Click on ‘Buy & Transfer Credit’ submenu

3.       While on ‘credit purchase’ section by default after step 2 is taken, click on ‘Online’

4.       Select a third party payment merchant (Paystack etc.)

5.       Enter ‘purchase amount’ which refers to the amount of SMS unit that is needed. Automatically, the total amount appears in the next column

6.       Enter a working email address that details of the transaction can be sent to

7.       Click on ‘buy credit’

8.       Enter card details found on credit card or debit card

9.       Click ‘Pay NGN ****’ (where **** refers to the total amount you will be charged)

Note: When making an online transaction, a small percentage is added to the total amount to be paid. It could be 2% or 3% depending on the amount of SMS unit to be purchased.
